Products - Summary Description
KIN-TEK instruments include:
I. Laboratory Gas
Standards Generators
491MB Gas Standards Generator (shown at
right) [
brochure],
491M Modular Gas Standards Generator [
brochure], Span Pac™ Lab Gas
Standards Generator, and Span Lab™ Complex Mixture
Generator [
brochure].
The
491MB Gas Standards Generator is a semi-portable workhorse. It has a single oven,
yet is able to generate up to eight simultaneous
chemical concentrations (with compatible disposable permeation tubes).
The 491M Modular system [
brochure] consists of the 491MB base module plus one or
more
add-ins (total of six modules) including additional ovens [
brochure] (six
maximum), gas feed [
brochure], secondary dilution [
brochure], direct gas blending [
brochure] and humidification [
brochure].
The Span Pac™ Lab Gas Standards Generator is used to generate
span check and calibration gas (on-demand or daily zero/span checks and
periodic multi-point calibrations) with disposable and refillable
permeation tubes. The generators come in single oven (Model 61), dual
oven (Model 261) and triple oven (Model 361) models. Additionally, the
Model 71 is
a single oven unit that can use gas-fed refillable permeation
tubes, disposable permeation tubes and liquid-filled refillable
permeation tubes.
The Span Lab™ Complex Mixture Generator [
brochure] is manually
controlled and consists of six ovens with
independent temperature control, and with up to eight permeation tubes
per oven. This instrument is used for maintaining multiple customer
applications (e.g., single-oven projects) or for generating a complex
gas mixture using multiple ovens with a large number of components. The
gas output of each oven can can be independently added to the output
stream. Up to four expansion units can be added, each with
six ovens for a total of 240 chemicals [(base TO14 unit + 4 expansion
units) x 6 ovens per unit x 8 tubes per oven). Optional secondary
dilution extends the total mixture to sub-ppb concentration levels.
Additional options include humidification and an interface
module. The interface module allows adjustment of the ouput pressure
from ambient to 40 psig and is used where the customer's device under
test
mandates either a steady or injected sample stream (via the syringe
port), or where back pressure is required to introduce the sample.
II. Industrial Gas
Standards Generators
Span Pac™ I
Series [
brochure]. The purpose of the
Span Pac I Model Series is to generate
check/calibration gas (on-demand or daily zero/span checks and periodic
multi-point calibrations). Similar to the Span Pac™
Lab
series, models in this industrial series are housed in a NEMA
4 cabinet and include single oven (Model
Span Pac 61-I),
dual oven (Model 261-I) and triple oven (Model 361-I) models.
Options include
X-purge
and Z-purge capability for Class 1, Division I, Group C and D and Class
1, Division II, Group C and D, respectively.
III.Field Portable Gas
Standards Generators
Span
Chek™ Portable Calibrator [
brochure] for "bump-checking" field diffusion-fed
sensors and other sensors and instruments.
IV.Moisture Gas Standards
Generators
Trace Moisture™ Lab Series include: Span Pac™ 61
H20, Span Pac™261 H20 [
brochure], Span Pac™ H20-WD, Span
Pac™ H20-WD/SD and Span Pac™ H20-R.
Industrial
Series include Span Pac™ 61-I-H20, Span
Pac™261-I-H20.
The Span Pac™ H
2O instruments
work on a differential principal. Calibration is based on the change in
analyzer response caused by the addition of a known water vapor
concentration from a Trace Source™ H
20
permeation tube to a
flowing stream of background gas (which may also contain some
moisture). This differential method overcomes the "no zero”
problem, and the problem of the background gas
affecting the response. Water vapor flow from the permeation tube is
measured gravimetrically, and is traceable to NIST. This technique
provides a close approximation to a primary standard, even in
situations where primary standards are not available.
Special care in design, construction and choice of components
minimizes errors due to atmospheric contamination and interactions with
other materials in the system.
Industrial versions (Span Pac™ 61-I-H20, Span
Pac™261-I-H20) are housed in a NEMA 4 cabient for service in
harsh, nonhazardous environments.
V. AUTOBLEND™
Complex Gas Mixture Generator
The AUTOBLEND Gas Mixture Generator [
brochure] runs under the direction of Windows-based
AUTOBLEND™
software and
generates complex gas mixtures from one to a large number of
compounds (48 maximum) where the concentrations can be independently
varied with respect to each other. This instrument is fully automatic.
